Prabhu becomes mentally ill after his girlfriend dies because of an electric short circuiting accident during a rock concert. Vinod is admitted into an institution managed by a doctor (Senthamarai).
With the help of a young doctor (Saranya Ponvannan), who is Senthamarai's daughter, and an old friend (Sarath Babu), Prabhu slowly regains his memory and mental equilibrium. Prabhu and Saranya fall in love. Senthamarai has already arranged Saranya's marriage with someone else, so he opposes the lovers.
When Senthamarai finds that Saranya and Prabhu are adamant, he performs a surgery (Lobotomy) on Prabhu that puts him into a state of coma. Sarath Babu feels that death would be preferable to vegetative life and kills Vinod. He confronts Senthamarai and confesses to the euthanasia. Saranya overhears the conversation, and loses her mental equilibrium. She is admitted into the same institution as a patient.
